Before any code is written, a well defined design for Business Objects, Schema, Middleware, APIs, User Interfaces. The design should lend itself to and be verified against the initial requirements as well as extensibility for potential future requirements.
Iterative Implementation of Design across multiple sprints that combine to form a release allows Clients to preview progress and make adjustments to Design (ideally) or Requirements (if necessary).
Unit Testing, Integration Testing, Manual Testing, User Acceptance Testing.
